There was barely any Premier League action in March as the international break returned for the first time in 2025. In addition to this it was the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Four teams only played once with the Carabao Cup Final taking place also, still however a team of the month has been constructed, consisting mainly of game winners. This month's team takes on a 3-5-2 formation. Remember the players take on the positions they occupy in the Premier League’s official ‘Fantasy Premier League’.
Goalkeeper
Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace)
Henderson kept a clean in the Eagles’ only March game. He had to work hard for it as he made no less than seven saves at home to Ipswich. The England international’s best saves came when he denied a low shot from Jaden Philogene and from a powerful effort by Julio Enciso. He now has nine clean sheets this season which has him joint-third.

Defenders
Jake O’Brien (Everton)
Since David Moyes arrived for his second stint at Everton, O’Brien has displaced Ashley Young at right back. Despite naturally being a centre-half, he has impressed up and down flank. The Irish international got the injury-time equaliser in the 1-1 home draw against West Ham, scoring with a header to get his second goal of the season.
Nikola Milenkovic (Nottingham Forest)
The towering Serbian centre back has been a revelation since joining from Fiorentina last summer. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men won both their games in March. The first saw them keep a clean sheet in a massive 1-0 win against champions Manchester City. They then won 4-2 at Ipswich where Milenkovic scored a stunning opener, he then assisted Anthony Elanga’s second goal.
Marc Cucurella (Chelsea)
Chelsea played twice in March. Cucurella got the winner as they squeezed past relegation-threatened Leicester at Stamford Bridge with a fine low strike from outside the box, as he has become an unlikely talisman amidst a drop in form from Cole Palmer. He almost salvaged a point in the 1-0 defeat at Arsenal as David Raya fumbled his volley and it just went past the post.
Midfielders
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde (Wolverhampton)
Bellegarde has been Wolves’ creative hub in the absence of their best player Matheus Cunha. They scored three times in March, and he assisted all three goals. He produced a great piece of play to feed Marshall Munetsi in the draw with Everton. Away at Southampton, his cross was headed in by Jorgen Strand Larsen, he later found him again for the striker to score from the edge of the box.
Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest)
After beating Manchester City at the City Ground, Forest completed an 100% month by winning away at Ipswich. It was Elanga who stole the show at Portman Road as he terrorised them on the counter attack. He got a first half brace, the first he cut in and produced a fine left footed finish. His second saw him slot in after controlling the ball straight from a Matz Sels goal kick.
Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)
United took 4 points from a possible six in March and Fernandes had a hand in all the four goals that they scored. The Red Devils drew 1-1 with Arsenal and the Portuguese gave Ruben Amorim’s team the lead with a fine free-kick. United then won 3-0 at Leicester. Fernandes assisted the first two goals, his placed finish made it 3 as he bend the ball into the corner.

Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle)
The Magpies played just once in March as they had the small issue of the Carabao Cup Final, nonetheless Guimaraes was the hero in their only outing. He got the winning goal in a captain’s display as they won 1-0 at West Ham, as he slid in Harvey Barnes’ smart ball. He had an 89% pass completion and made seven ball recoveries in the win.
Declan Rice (Arsenal)
Rice excelled in Arsenal’s draw at Manchester United. His well-placed finish secured a point for the Gunners in a game they could easily have lost if it was not for the heroics of David Raya. Rice then made a last-ditch to prevent Rasmus Hojlund from turning the ball goalwards.
Forwards
Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)
Watkins scored the winner in Villa’s only March game. Unai Emery’s men won 1-0 at Watkins’ former club Brentford, where he picked up the ball and shot low past Mark Flekken who saw the ball late. Watkins now has 13 league goals this campaign.
Jorgen Strand Larsen (Wolverhampton)
Strand Larsen bagged a brace in the 2-1 triumph at Southampton. His first was a thumping header from Jean-Ricner Bellegarde’s cross. Bellegarde found him again for the second goal as Strand Larsen steered a low shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area. The Norwegian very quietly has 9 goals this season.
