Yesterday was bittersweet, I did not want to talk about it, but I just had to vent, I had to talk. Before I go any further, as this is the I must add that gambling should be something fun, and you should try to settle as many times as you can, I mean life is stressful enough isn't it. If you ever find yourself losing touch with yourself, then seek help. There are a gambling hotlines available, and you can cap your deposit values, so you do not spend over the amount that you should be. You can also suspend yourself with some gambling sites, which of course means that you can not give into temptation.
Recently I saw an interview with former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson, on ITV's Good Morning Britain, where he was talking about the urge got so bad, that he was betting on everything, basketball from different countries, etc. We sit here and some of us laugh, but addiction is as real as can be and you do not know what it is like unless you are dragged into it. When the Grand National is on, people in their flocks go to bookmakers, hoping their horse will win, as many times, outsiders have won. But, for some people, this is what they do everyday, please try to not gamble away more than what you have, as the consequences could be detrimental to your life.
Gamblers are looked down upon, especially ones that are seen going in and out of bookmakers, which is why online gambling is now so popular. Going in the shop actually is a good thing however, as it gives most people more control, it is a different feeling handing a cashier large sums of money, and physically seeing your stake, then it is depositing it online. When you do not see it, the blow does not seem to be as bad. What people have to realise though is some people are skilled, and are basically professional gamblers, making a lot of money off of things like horse racing, though they are frowned upon by those who seem going in and out of the bookies. The other end of the spectrum sees people losing money and this is why you must have a plan, if you wish to get involved.
Now I have said all that, I'm not going to preach as much anymore, but i had to say something as this is the first one, this section of the blog, is hopefully going to be as lighthearted as possible, but also help those who bet small(er) like I do.

So to yesterday, I tried to be let us say...too smart, I had an accumulator in mind, I did that, but then I did another acca, and I do not like to have a game identically in two different accas. So I tried something, as I had Liverpool to beat Porto in another small bet, I put Liverpool to beat Porto, and there to be over 2.5 goals in the game, which of course meant there had to be at least 3 goals in the 90 minutes. Liverpool got off to a great start going 2-0 up very quickly. I thought the 3 goals would be easily achieved, Mo Salah missed a sitter in the first half and Liverpool had a goal ruled out for offside in the second half, I was getting agitated. The way I could not sit still, you would have thought Liverpool were not winning, it was crazy.
Leyton Orient and Macclesfield had been trailing in their games, but Orient went 3-2 ahead after being behind 2-1 and Macclesfield had drawn level with Exeter. Flyde were leading against Gateshead, and though obviously I expected them to win Leeds and Swansea were both winning. Macclesfield scored a late goal to beat Exeter and Leyton Orient turned it around against Ebbsfleet. 6 out of the 7 games were doing well, I just needed Tottenham to get a late goal at home to Man City, and there to be another goal in the Liverpool game. Son scored for Spurs, and I was left crying when my team had won a game, madness.

I tried to share my pain of being so close to £307 off of a mere pound bet, but others mainly told me 'I had to be extra' or 'I tried to be too smart..', and unfortunately that was the case. At the end of the day, my team Liverpool won which was the main thing, but I should have just kept things more basic, this amount of money this late in the season, would have been beautiful. The moral of the story is here, I would do the same type of bet again!
